Thursdays 13:00-14:30 between October 2025 and January 2026, starting on October 9th, room M7-1H04.
Description
The CAN is organizing a training course “R for beginners” during the fall semester.
This training session will last around twelve weeks between October and January (except during Toussaint and Christmas Holidays, with the possibility to add additional weeks at the end if necessary), with 1h30 of tutorial/practical every week.
This training session is free (thanks to volunteering trainers) and available for all (permanent and non-permanent) members of the following labs: CIRI, IGFL, LBMC, RDP, MMSB, LBTI, IVPC, IBCP (SFR BioSciences partners).
Requirements
Having an @ens-lyon.fr account (to access computers during the session) or having a laptop with a working Wifi eduroam Internet access and a recent web browser (no further installation is required, all practicals will be done via a specific platform available through the web browser).
Specific details
This year, the training will be done in English mainly.
Content
The contents of the the training is the following :
- learn basic knowledge of R language programming
- use Rstudio IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
- import data table/array
- filter and sort data table
- reorganize data table
- generate graphics and plots
